UHPC Valucem C120 is the trade name for a unique, high-quality concrete known as UHPC, or Ultra-High-Performance Concrete. It is a high-strength cement-based composite supplied exclusively as a dry mix. The material’s properties enable the creation of unique elements and structures. PREMIX servis s.r.o., as the manufacturer and supplier of this high-strength fiber-reinforced cement composite, has extensive experience with the implementation and use of UHPC Valucem C120.
UHPC VALUCEM C120 exhibits extremely high resistance to environmental factors, particularly to frost and deicing salts. Its rapid setting and high mechanical strength ensure a fast repair process and allow for trouble-free subsequent use of the surfaces. At the same time, its rheological properties make it possible to create surface slopes for drainage of up to 6%. Surface preparation is carried out using standard procedures typical for concrete rehabilitation. The applied layer of UHPC VALUCEM C120, up to 40 mm thick, is typically installed without KARI mesh reinforcement and with a steel fiber content of at least 3% by volume. In contrast, thicker applications of UHPC VALUCEM C120, ranging from 40 to 80 mm in thickness, are typically applied with KARI mesh reinforcement and a steel fiber content of up to 3%, with bond to the underlying concrete ensured in this case by bonded anchors.
The rehabilitation and strengthening of bridge structures can be carried out by removing the damaged layer of concrete from the bridge deck and subsequently pouring an UHPC composite slab. The newly poured UHPC layer, with a thickness determined by structural analysis, is then reinforced—if necessary, with multiple layers of KARI mesh—and bonded to the underlying concrete using adhesive anchors. UHPC can also be used in a similar manner to effectively strengthen vertical concrete structures.
Wastewater treatment facilities, particularly sludge tanks, often exhibit structural defects and potential leaks due to their age. In such cases, a suitable repair option is a relatively thin layer of UHPC Valucem C120, approximately 40–60 mm thick, applied from the inside after removing the damaged concrete layer. This newly poured concrete layer is then reinforced with KARI mesh and scattered reinforcement, and can be reliably bonded to the underlying concrete using adhesive anchors.
Tank walls coated with a layer of UHPC Valucem C120 or cast directly from concrete comply with the requirements of Decree No. 409/2005 Coll. regarding products that come into direct contact with drinking water. A key advantage is that UHPC Valucem C120 does not leach undesirable substances into drinking water.
